York YWCA

LSC Design recently completed the complete renovation of the York YWCA. Designers worked with YWCA staff to reorganize and expand the 50 year old existing 45,000 sf facility to meet the present and future needs of area families. Multiple levels within each floor made for accessibility solutions that included the use of ramps and a centrally located elevator. By selecting an elevator that is able to stop at multiple elevations and be accessed from several directions LSC was able to save our client money and space by only needing one elevator.

Distinct building environments available to members include Fitness/Cardio, Yoga, Spinning, and Dance, as well as Swimming. The renovated facility will also feature an expanded and updated, nationally accredited childcare center as well as a separate learning environment for area school-age youth. LSC Design has phased the construction so as to minimize disruption to the current facility operations.
